Meet The Statesmen

R: “Who wrote the National Poem and National Anthem?
P1 (Beaming; with the intensity of a 4 year old having solved a 12th standard math paper!): “Is this a trick question or what? Both are same!
P2: “That poem was actually done by several poets. Anthem… I don’t know.

Anyone who caught a glimpse of that small (8-10 minutes) video in Headlines Today news channel on Independence Day will understand what I am talking about.

I think they decided to quiz our beloved Rajya Sabha members about some really difficult and intimidating questions related to rocket science (read ‘our’ history). Now I can’t conjure words to describe the feelings of the journalist who had the guts to take on such an impetuous task!

All For A Cause

Akbar waited with bated breath for the vehicle to pass. He had the humongous responsibility of taking the small building down. The thought didn’t deter him. Neither did it shake the insurmountable wall of faith for the cause which had given him a new life.

Never in his life had he thought he will end up taking arms. And if the gods have mercy on him, he may not have to go through the ordeal again. He knew he would be hunted down one way or another in case he survived. He just wanted to see those who caused so much suffering to his fellowmen, suffer in return; he wanted to see those men, who ruined his land, to die.

Lost In The Desert

Ahoy there rider!
You, who comes to explore me;
I welcome thee to my open lands
Welcome thee to thy death!

Men die in their prime
Thinking I welcome them with open arms.
To intrude is fatal and
There are no exceptions to this rule.

Why Is It?

Why is it, that,
Caste ridden society can never progress
Yet no society has known to be sans-caste?

Why is it, that,
A man is tongue tied seeing his beloved
When they are meant to chit-chat for eternity?

Why is it, that,
Men need borders to keep organized
Whilst the heart roams scot-free?

Terrorism

The word sums it all up, I guess. An unfortunate and unforeseen force, created by the arms race; there is no stopping it now for it spreads its stink all directions. A modern day terrorist need not be a bearded man with Arab clothing and a Kalashnikov. Of course such silhouettes still exist, but like any group with extreme intentions they are learning the act of survival.

You meet Sam at the XY airport – a guy who looks handsome, intelligent, well learned, and well mannered and most importantly can look straight into your eyes while striking a conversation. He has to board his plane and departs in haste and quickly blows the plane to smithereens!

Cinema

Stardom, fanaticism, craze, sleaze, fame, glory, conspiracies, gossips, limelight – a mix of all these; Cinema is all about it.

People get easily affected by what they hear and what they see. To a lot of people to see, is to believe. Imagine what would happen when a deadly mix of sight, sound and act get together. It could take you to new heights; make you visualize things which you can hardly ever dream of; things which are fantastic, to things which are mundane.

The Great Puppet Show

The puppets dangle from the strings,
The puppets are here to dance,
Moving to every little movement
The puppeteer decides to make.

The puppeteer swings a thread,
Cuts another, and entwines two in one;
The puppets know not what is next,
For, there are no rules to this game.

They have no senses, but believe they do,
For the puppeteer is a master at this play.
To think with one end and survive with another,
That’s all there is to this silly little game!
