A Few Lessons From My Kid

I had a good time and learnt a couple of lessons when my son participated in one of his first competitive performances. It made me realize what we adults miss sometimes – not just that winning or loosing is just one’s perspective, that the terms of victory and defeat in themselves serve no meaning to those pure at heart.

Last weekend I learnt a couple of lessons – in that of parent’s pride (it’s a totally different sort of happiness) and that an adult can never master the art with which a child can toss a win or loss. They give two hoots really!

Hello 2012!

A retrospective look at an year gone by in a jiffy! And thoughts for the year to come.

It’s that wonderful feeling all over again. Time to start everything afresh. It’s new year time, of course. 2011 has been a year of downs and ups. Kind of bumpy, and I am sure looking forward to 2012.

Festival of Lights

Birth – is amazing; seeing the baby react to the first sounds of light, sound and touch – scintillating; knowing that god trusts you by putting a little one in your care – moment of truth!

She is the golden ray

The dawn on a foggy day

She is the harbinger of joy

Of hope, peace and love…

Android App

Going mobile with a simple android app for http://nrajesh.com.

I have created an android app using apps-builder.com. For the uninitiated this is a website that lets you create simple android apps without getting your hands dirty with coding. The app contains ads by the way – there I told you beforehand.

Behind the Great Wall

From Chennai to Shanghai – a quick recap of what happened before I forget it all!

It is now two weeks since I left the sanctity of my home and decided to pursue something new. The plan was on for almost two to three months but I admit the final set of events was triggered at an alarming pace! It was on a Wednesday that I was driving my vehicle to a very familiar work place, in the blissful December weather of Chennai, set to do tasks that I had grown comfortable to and chat with friends who are really close to me; and by the very next day I was told to be prepared to change it all quite soon and come Friday I was all set to travel!

Trip to Kerala

Here’s a travelogue of our recent trip to Kerala. Rather than turning out to be the relaxed vacation which I had in mind it turned to be hectic in every sense of the word!

Sensing Kerala is not the same as what we get to see in those subtle Incredible India ads – believe me on this. It takes more than just good planning and a great place to create a memorable trip. Down the years when I travel back the memory lane I’ll still look back at our “hectic” five day trip to Thrissur not with apathy or anguish, as can be expected from an extraordinarily tiring and gruesome trip, but rather with amazement at the abundance of nature that I got to see in so many varied forms.

Goodbye Nokia

As of last week I go from a staunch Nokian to an Aikon! Here’s a rant of what happened and a recap to – the birth of ‘my love’ for gadgets!

My tryst with mobile phones began roughly six years ago when my mom got me a Nokia 3200, which at the time of it’s inception was a great mobile. I’ll say I was smitten by the technology bug soon after entering the fascinating world of handhelds.
