Bamberg Trip

Considering how bad our earlier “planned” trip turned out to be, we took no risks this time and went in for an unplanned one.

Surprise, surprise! It turned out to be just okay!

The Unfortunate Swiss Trip

What promised to be once in a lifetime kind of trip turned out to be less than mundane, a shame to the less ordinary; it was a classic tale of “so near yet so far”! In a scale of one to ten, 10 being the most happiest and 1 (quite obviously) the saddest I would rate the trip to my dream place (and that of my wife too) as -1!

Nürnberg Alstadtfest

I managed to catch up with the missed shots and places on this visit to Nürnberg and unlike last time I had a couple of cams that were fully loaded and ready!

Oktoberfest 2008

I think the name spells Beer to millions of people around the world, but to a traditional Bavarian it is more of a way of having good fun (of course coupled with beer)!

Nürnberg Volksfest

I guess it would be fair to say the fun began earlier than expected! I encountered this train at the Nürnberg bahnhoff – something from a mini-folk tale I would rather say :o )

Trip to München

The weekend began with a bang to say the least! I managed to get my first SLR! Getting a new gadget is always such a good kick ;-)

Well afterward there was more excitement to follow!

Loans

A few years back loans were a strict no-no. Not the big ones, I even looked down upon borrowing money from friends. The concept of loans, as I saw it, was tainted. It might not be the way money lenders were projected in media. It has perhaps got everything to do with the way in which I was bought up. It was a part of individual principle etc.

When rest of my friends decided to have a good time to go on debit with local dhabawalas back in college, I wouldn’t have any of it. When my colleagues were having fun with their new found love (read credit cards) in the initial days with Infy, I abstained – yeah even CC was a strict no-no! When no one saw any harm in borrowing a rupee or two for tea, I was counting every penny I spent. Some people were okay with this, some detested me for this quality.

Making A Documentary

Last weekend for me was totally different! I was taking part in an Organization level contest for making a documentary on how eco-friendly my company is. It was supposed to be a team event, but there wasn’t much of a team, save me and my wife; but I am glad we make a great pair :)

It was great fun and a wonderful experience. Though I am no stranger on the other side of the lens, it was my first attempt in making a movie of some “professional standard”! Neither was I too keen on following set norms – so I simply let my thoughts come alive while making the video;. the cast being just my wife – it was pretty obvious no one would risk ruining a potential career option by appearing in my film, except for this girl :D
