The Yearbook

Written on the eve of my kid’s bridging ceremony which is held to mark their end of academic year. The idea is to cross a figurative bridge (from one teacher to the next) in front of friends and parents.

A Few Lessons From My Kid

I had a good time and learnt a couple of lessons when my son participated in one of his first competitive performances. It made me realize what we adults miss sometimes – not just that winning or loosing is just one’s perspective, that the terms of victory and defeat in themselves serve no meaning to those pure at heart.

Last weekend I learnt a couple of lessons – in that of parent’s pride (it’s a totally different sort of happiness) and that an adult can never master the art with which a child can toss a win or loss. They give two hoots really!
